October News

Happy October! One of the nicest months at VMS, October is filled with settled classes, great work, energizing cool weather and fun Fall events. Each classroom has their own take on those activities so be sure to read your teacher’s newsletter carefully.  But first, looking back at September…

The coat drive for Linkages to Learning was a great success!  Our rep, former VMS parent Christine Patton, was very pleased with all the coats we were able to provide them.  She asked me to pass on her genuine thanks for your generosity.  We’ll work with Christine next on our gently-used and new toy drive in December.

All our extra-curricular activities are up and running for our Primary students, and all groups have filled out very nicely. These activities continue throughout the school year so if your child didn’t get to participate this session, you can always sign her up for the Winter and/or Spring session. Now on to October…

We will be having our Fall Festival extravaganza on the 31st.  We started this event last year and it was a huge success!  Activities included a pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, a straw ‘pit’, scarecrow stuffing, ghoulish golf and a tractor hayride, among others. This year’s activities are in the planning stages, but we’re sure they’ll be fun and well received!
