Field trips provide a wonderful opportunity to take our learning beyond our school building, into the broader world.  Apple picking in September & Pumpkin Patch visits in October give us a sense for the passing of time as we watch the seasons unfold.

Connecting us to those things which we often take for granted, to the extent we’re not even sure how they get to us, several classes took a trip to a farm to watch and learn about cow milking.  Interesting for the children, the parents were equally fascinated with the production this most basic food.

A walking trip to a local grocery store is in the planning stages to again provide an opportunity for children to learn first hand about how the food they’ve been learning about gets to their plates.
