Denise Murtha has 23 years of experience working with infants and toddlers in Montessori schools.  She received her Montessori credential from CMTE/North Carolina and has received training from Resources for Infant Educators (RIE).  Denise joined Village Montessori School in 2019.  She has been an instructor and level coordinator for 13 years at the Institute of Advanced Montessori Studies in Silver Spring, MD.  Denise has done numerous presentations at The Greater Washington Montessori Conference and has served as an On-Site Verification Team member for the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education.

She has done consultant work and staff training for programs in Maryland and Virginia, and has had the pleasure of starting up and overseeing Infant and Toddler Programs in Frederick County and currently at Village Montessori School.

In her spare time, she loves to read and spend time in nature.  She has three adult children, four grandchildren and two dog kiddos.
