Denise Murtha

Montessori Teacher
Two Year Old Montessori Program
Room 1

Denise describes her experience in Montessori as “an incredible journey.” She considers it a labor of love to guide children in these early years of growth and learning.

Denise has been teaching infants and toddlers for 24 years in the Montgomery and Frederick County, MD area. She received her Infant and Toddler Credential from the Center for Montessori Teacher Education in North Carolina and has also acquired Certification in Resources for Infant Educarer’s (RIE) Theory and Observation. Denise has worked in the past as Department Head of an Infant and Toddler program she started in Frederick County, and has also served as the program’s toddler teacher.

Denise devotes part of her summer working as a teacher educator at the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies. She also works for the Institute as a consultant, supporting students during their first year teaching. Denise also loves offering workshops to parents and teachers throughout the year, in order to increase their knowledge and love of Montessori.

When Denise is not working, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, reading to increase her knowledge base, going on adventures, exploring new places and sleeping in a bit on weekends!

Denise strongly believes in what she does and is humbled by the opportunity to serve others.
